  LP4Y LAB - PARIS

In the Paris region, a first team of Catalysts was formed in September 2019 to launch the project. A partnership has been initiated with the social landlord Vilogia so that the Catalysts can be housed and work on the development of the Lab in the cité des Tilleuls, in Le Blanc-Mesnil (93). The town has a large number of young people who are far from the education and employment system. The first training courses for trainers organised by the Lab took place in January 2020 and a first forum bringing together different local actors of inclusion will take place in 2020.

  LP4Y LAB - NYC

In New York, a first field study was carried out in April 2019 in order to define needs, areas of exclusion, and to meet young people as well as actors engaged in the challenge of inclusion. A Catalyst arrived in January 2020 to continue this study, find a centre and engage the mobilisation of future partners. The meeting with the community was facilitated by the enthusiastic commitment of Diamond Williams, a young mother who was formerly homeless. Because of the presence of the United Nations and the headquarters of many large corporations, Lab New York also has an essential advocacy dimension.

NATALIE KEAN

Senior advocate for Justice in Aging, Washington DC, United States.

Ex-coach of the Life Project Center in Tondo, Manila, Philippines.

"As an American and an advocate for people living in extreme poverty, I have seen how young adults are excluded in this country. University is expensive, lack of education prevents them from getting decent jobs, and the cost of living in New York leads to high debt loads. My experience as a coach proves to me that, like the Youth of the World, Americans will succeed if together we break down these barriers and create opportunities. The Lab project is an opportunity to bring LP4Y's unique pedagogy together with Young Americans with an entrepreneurial spirit! By mobilizing the actors of the ecosystem, the Lab has the potential to energize the inclusion of Young people and to create a new generation of Catalysts. »
