The LP4Y Labs are centers for the development of innovative solutions to support the professional and social integration of excluded youth.
LP4Y LABS HAVE 3 MISSIONS:
Organize events to connect local actors and share good practices.
Accompany project leaders dedicated to the inclusion of young people.
LP4Y LAB - NYC
In New York, a first field study was carried out in April 2019 in order to define needs, areas of exclusion, and to meet young people as well as actors engaged in the challenge of inclusion. A Catalyst arrived in January 2020 to continue this study, find a centre and engage the mobilisation of future partners. The meeting with the community was facilitated by the enthusiastic commitment of Diamond Williams, a young mother who was formerly homeless. Because of the presence of the United Nations and the headquarters of many large corporations, Lab New York also has an essential advocacy dimension.
LP4Y LAB - PARIS
In the Paris region, a first team of Catalysts was formed in September 2019 to launch the project. A partnership has been initiated with the social landlord Vilogia so that the Catalysts can be housed and work on the development of the Lab in the cité des Tilleuls, in Le Blanc-Mesnil (93). The town has a large number of young people who are far from the education and employment system. The first training courses for trainers organised by the Lab took place in January 2020 and a first forum bringing together different local actors of inclusion will take place in 2020.
