The LP4Y Bangladesh team has been in the field for 5 months now. The country is one of the poorest and most densely populated in the world. Its capital, Dhaka, is a lively and booming city. The textile industry is the main sector of activity there. Each year, 2 million Youth seek to enter the job market. However, for lack of suitable training, they struggle to integrate the professional world. In addition, many unskilled jobs are poorly paid, so that 40% of the inhabitants of Dhaka now live in a slum. The volunteers thus mapped the city in order to determine the most relevant district where to create a first center. After several weeks of visits and meetings, this one was chosen. Bhashantek is a slum of 30,000 inhabitants located in Mirpur Now that the legal structure is established*, it is a question of composing two teams of 17 young people in order to start the trainings in a temporary room, then in a definitive Life Project Center. There are plans to open a second center in Dhaka or another big city in the country. At the same time, the volunteers identify future integration partners: companies, universities and associations. Beautiful challenges and a promising project!
